Responsibilities:
Operates forklift to move bales and skids of paper to and from trucks and warehouse to process floor.
Coordinates activities and work flow for other Forklift Drivers, Baler Operators, Paper Sorters, and Roll Cutters.
Interprets company policy and enforces company safety regulations as needed.
Responsible for grading and quality of all incoming and outgoing paper.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse.
Train new workers as needed.
Provides administrative support to Shift Leader in record keeping, attendance, processing paperwork for inbound & outbound loads.
Fills in for Shift Leader as needed.
Assistant Lead should be able to perform all plant functions including baler, roll cutter, booksaw, forklift & front loader operation, and minor office functions. Individual should be able to speak, read & write English. Have the ability to communicate with all levels of management. Have a good mechanical aptitude.
Requirements
Previous lead activity is a plus, but not required. Ideal candidate will be bilingual English/Spanish. Individual should be a self-starter and have experience in a light industrial environment. Individual should be able to problem solve and react accordingly to meet production requirements set forth by Shift Lead. Individual will be coordinating activities for the entire sorting operation. Keeping the operation running is critical in meeting production goals.
Must be willing to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for an extended period of time (lifting, walking, climbing, stooping ) with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Must be willing to work in high and/or confined spaces.
Must be willing to work in a sometimes hot, cold, dust, noisy, industrial environment.
Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent GED or HSED.
