LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Mining Chemicals
Overview of the Role
The laboratory technician will be located at the Laboratory in Decatur, GA. He/she will report to the R&D Group Leader for Mining Chemicals. The laboratory technician will support the development of chemicals for the mining industry. The laboratory technician will work with a team of scientists/chemists to evaluate new products in the laboratory and follow their development through scale up and commercialization, including providing the ongoing technical support required to make these products commercial successes.
Key Responsibilities
? Prepare new products in the laboratory by blending or chemical reactions.
? Ship samples to third parties for evaluation.
? Monitor trials at industrial locations.
? Test products using industry standard methods, and develop new test methods as appropriate.
? Support projects that require interfacing with a multi-functional team (Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Legal, Engineering, etc.).
Basic Qualifications
? Associate or Bachelors degree in Chemistry or a related science, or alternatively a minimum of 10 years of experience in a laboratory environment.
