Responsible for the routing of shipments through out the U.S., as well as optimizing collaborative shipments to improve utilization on our Georgia-Pacific Dedicated fleets. Will be utilizing appropriate tools to manage one way carrier cost and service and handling emergency pickup requirements of critical materials and parts.
Candidates are responsible for developing and maintaining effective business relationships with multiple Customer Service teams, and shipping facilities as well as developing and maintaining effective Carrier relationships.
Utilizing analytical skills to resolve operational issues. Providing support to other Outbound and Dedicated Shipment Planners and team members to ensure responsibilities are completed in a timely manner.
Maintaining system parameters to include; carrier availability, carrier and customer restrictions and system optimization conditions to maximize effectiveness of low cost, high service carrier options.
Education:
College degree preferred
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of two years customer service or Transportation experience is required.
Knowledge - Skills - Abilities:
Candidates must have strong oral & written communication skills. Strong organizational skills, analytical capabilities and superior communication skills are required. PC skills in MS Word, Excel are needed.
