Responsible for the timely and cost efficient transportation of domestic truck and rail shipments.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Working with suppliers to receive notification of available goods
- Identifying the most profitable margin scenarios available for an existing load
- Identifying reliable carrier services and negotiating the best freight weights
- Scheduling load and completing notifications
- Re-issuing purchase and/or sales orders upon request
- Responding to scheduling, pick-up or delivery issues
- Completing new account set-up
- Periodically reviewing system data to ensure accuracy
- Provide customer support to suppliers, mills and carriers
Knowledge and Skills:
- Microsoft Office (Proficiency in Word and Excel)
- 1-2 years of industry related experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S geography
- Basic understanding of transportation industry
- A strong sense of urgency
- A strong customer orientation
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
